ABOUT

Hi, I'm
Gábor

I’m an English teacher, language trainer and lifelong learner.

I’ve been teaching English for more than 25 years. During that time, I’ve worked with hundreds of learners, from university students and teachers to professionals, managers and company teams, and I’ve delivered more than 8,000 hours of training across industries including pharmaceuticals, automotive, IT and banking.

WHAT KEEPS ME INTERESTED

It’s finding ways to make things click.

What has kept me interested all these years isn’t simply teaching English.

I’ve always loved those moments when a learner suddenly says:

“Wow. Nobody has explained it to me like that before.”

That’s the moment I’m looking for in teaching.

CREATIVE PROBLEM-SOLVING

MY CREATIVE PROCESS

01 See the problem

02 Understand

03 Experiment

04 Keep what worked

I’ve always been a creative problem-solver

Over the years, I’ve discovered that I’m happiest when I’m faced with a problem and have to figure out a way around it.

That became particularly clear when I spent several years teaching English to young children. I started writing songs to solve real classroom challenges, then played and recorded them and turned them into activities involving movement, games and play.

Looking back, I realised that the part I enjoyed most wasn’t simply creating songs.

It was the process itself: seeing a problem, understanding, inventing something, trying it out and seeing what worked.

That way of thinking has stayed with me, even though much of my work today is with adults and professionals.

MUSIC & VOICE

Music taught me to listen differently

Music has been part of my life for many years. I’m a singer and songwriter, and I’ve spent a lot of time rehearsing and performing.

That experience has trained my ear to notice things that are easy to miss in ordinary speech — rhythm, timing, stress, phrasing, breath, and the small changes in sound that can affect how something is perceived.

I naturally bring that awareness into my work with spoken English.

A LONG-STANDING INTEREST

Pronunciation wasn’t a new direction

16

pronunciation articles for Speak Up , Spain’s leading English learning magazine.

Between 2012 and 2014, I wrote a series called Say It Right for the magazine. Across 16 issues, I tackled a different pronunciation problem for Spanish speakers each month. The articles were accompanied by a CD, which I also narrated.

Looking back, I can see that many of the ideas I was exploring then are still at the heart of how I work with professionals today.

WHAT I BELIEVE ABOUT LEARNING ENGLISH

Knowing something and being able to use it when you need it are two different things.

For me, teaching is about building the connection between the two.

You hear it.

You understand it.

You try it.

You experience it works.

It becomes yours.

– TODAY

I help experienced professionals and leaders use English without extra stress in demanding situations.

I want to help you reach a point where your English no longer gets in the way of what you  actually want to say.

Not perfect English.

Not a perfect accent.

And not pretending to be a native speaker.

Clear, confident English

that lets your expertise

come through.

– WORK WITH ME

If you’re ready to make English feel less limiting in demanding professional situations, let’s talk.
